Aaadha Kaadha which could be translated as the way of life which has come to us through several generations. The way we live. The way we speak. There are things we do which could be totally strange to people who are foreign to our way of life. Even the simplest things we fail to recognise, or dont give a damn about (to put it simply).
Being fortunate enough to live few years of my life in a foreign country has open my eyes to some of parts of the world i never thought of being able to visit when I was a kid. And that has taught me new insights. To look at life and the way we live from a different angle. To see things that I never saw before. To listen to voices I never bothered earlier.
We always hear people of honor saying being a Maldivian is the greatest privilege we are blessed with. But the question is how blessed are we compared to the rest of the world. Keeping our patriotism and love for our motherland apart, how different are to the rest of the people living in far away lands.
Even if we are in a small tiny nation with a handful people compared to other countries, we have our own ways and means. We have a way of life, that came to us through generations. From the way speak to the way cross the streets. There are certain customs and unwritten rules about how we should or just live our life.
This may suffice for an introduction of what this blog is going to be about. It will be about history, culture, language and most importantly Maldivian life. On subtleties we do not care or seem to recognize. (May be) because we are too busy with living our life that way its supposed to be. Living according to our glorious Aaadha Kaadha.
